Learned this from my parents and taught this to my kids as well. Treat other people's stuff as well as (or better) than you treat/care for your own, it shows repect. And yes, throw in a little something extra to show how much you appreciate their help. I've found that a lot of people haven't learned that lesson.

I once loaned a toolbox of tools to a mate. When he returned them three days later than agreed, and with the tools in the box swishing around in water and mud, he said to me "Well you shouldn't have leant the tools to me in the first place". That comment and the state of the tools was like being slapped with a tuna, and still feels the same 8 years later!

Why is love according to the method of the "baal hasulam" is the solution to all troubles for humanity? Because all nature is a force, a feature, a system, a formula of love. Of connection and unity between opposites, between hot and cold, hard to soft, white and black, male and female, sweet and bitter, light and dark. In every atom and particle, in every inanimate plant and life, the whole universe and beyond, the whole reality is the result of a connection between opposites. For humanity and the individual, one power rules from the day of birth, hatred of others and self-love at its expense, egoism. By combining the power of love with the equation, man maintains the connection between the opposites and thus stops resisting nature, and enters into harmony with it, which is the goal of nature, to do good to creatures. Until then, man will suffer great and immense suffering in order to recognize and submit to the demand of nature, He must strive in his power and choice in loving others. Thus he will acquire intellect and wisdom to connect the two opposites and will complete the nature that was created with unintentional intent, but rather man must complete it, and manage it, and bring it to perfection. And why did nature do that? (Nature and God are the same gematria 86) In order for man to grow and develop in his free choice and thus conduct creation as the conductor of an orchestra, And if man had been created in advance corrected and perfected? So he was like a perfect animal, dog and cat. But their rank as a robot is controlled with no free choice but absolute instinct dominates them. After all, a real benefit from a father to his son is nothing but that the son rises and grows according to the rank of his father and even above him. We were to conquer nature just like the one who created it. And not when judging and living a dog and a cat. If so the solution Is not in increasing the hatred from which it is not lacking and will never be lacking because that is how it has been imprinted on us from the day of birth (Media you do a very bad job just a pity a lot of beatings along the way !!!!) Nor in the abolition of hatred because it is power is in nature and should not be abolished. But only in the addition of love and connection and oneness addition upon addition while being aware of the process. The people of Israel will wake up !!! Followed by the whole world !!!!! Nature (G-d) requires connection and oneness and if not, he has every means to educate man and humanity until his surrender. He will not rest or sleep until the purpose of creation is completed. To do good to creatures. Come, O Bnei Yisrael, you are the first to realize this study !!!!!!!! And when you know, you will teach your brothers the peoples of the world. This is called light to the Gentiles. And this is a job we do not deserve at all in the meantime. "For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples!" Love friends only love. It is the solution for every individual and for everyone together. how? To do propaganda of connection and not of separation and hatred ....

Part of me believes the only reason you became a Christian is for the perks. Like sitting in constant judgment of those around you. You create unrealistic unspoken rules for the world and revel in the worlds errors. Only a religion could see this behaviour as virtuous

I never loan anything out anymore. I never get it back. However, I do sometime give things to people instead of loaning it. Even my adult children will keep or loose my things. And they were raised better. But they are caught up in the current trend concerning loaning things. If you are letting them use something, it must mean you don't want it anymore. If you do want it, you have to ask for it back. And you better not wait too long to ask for it..............................

I borrowed a friend's truck once to go hunting. The alternator went out right away the later the exhaust gave up on the way back. I replaced both new before I returned it as that was what my father taught me. I was in my early 20's. Years later I loaned my truck to a friend to move one weekend. Two and a half weeks later I finally tracked him down. The clutch and brakes were out. He was still driving it. He was starting it in gear and letting it lurch forward to jump-start and slam shifting down to first gear to get the truck to stop.

Had a friend who's brother borrowed a trailer and returned it with the jack nearly ripped off. It cost $35 and some time to replace. Friend said, "Ya. I wouldn't let him borrow anything again." Fast forward a couple years. Let my friend borrow my truck to pull horses on a week long trip. He rode the clutch so much that he melted the double disc feramic clutch completely to liquid. After driving his truck down to him, over 300 miles each way, and driving my own back without a clutch it cost around $1700 to replace the clutch, flywheel, etc, since it was destroyed. All I got from him was a shrug of the shoulders and a, "Sorry man. I don't have the money to pay for it." When I finally stopped loaning him things he acted like I had betrayed him and hurt his family. Nevermind the fact that he had fallen on hard times and filed bankruptcy and in order to help out I had let him stay in our basement rent free for about a year and a half. We were friends for over 20 years before all of this. I know they say familiarity breeds contempt but I think, in this case, getting closer to people allows you to see who they truly are. He ended up "drawing a line in the sand" and I stayed on my side, though I feel sorry for him and his family to this day. I found out later that I wasn't the only person he would ask to do things with only when he wanted something. I prefer an honest person that is rough aroung the edges to a chameleon that fakes it until they make it. You can't have a quality life if you are lying to everyone including yourself. On the other hand I have an old friend with whom I have loaned and borrowed tools, firearms and just about anything else for decades and he has always been trustworthy. We've both loaned things that have ended up at each others house for over a year and we have to call to see who has it when we can't find it. He is one of those "diamonds in the rough", and not just a cubic zirconia (fake diamond). But, usually, it has worked best for me to protect my investments by loaning my time and encouragement while using my tools than to loan my tools and be disappointed and have to put the effort into fixing things after the fact.

I will loan things out but only to certain people. People I can trust to take care of it as I would. Learned my lesson years ago when somebody asked me if he could borrow my utility trailer for the weekend. I hadn't seen the trailer for a month and when I needed it, I found it in his backyard loaded with old drywall and lumber scraps. I had to hook up to it and haul it to the landfill transfer station and pay to unload it just so I could use it. AND the drywall had been rained on and turned to mush. What a mess and it was 3 hours before I had my trailer home in usable condition.

I don't think it's that the borrowers neccesarily have to add value or whatnot. Respect it better than ones own stuff, guard it with ones life , DO.NOT.LOAN.OUT.BORROWED.ITEMS! People really think that is ok to do... A bunch of disprespectfull ingrates they are! Put your best efforts into taking care of the borrowed item and do what you can. If you have to borrow a car, you may not have money enough to fill it. Simply replace what you used and add few dollars extra to show appreciation and effort. Do your best . if the owner needs it , it is game over. Stop using it and return with a grin and say thankyou. They saved you a ton of time and effort already despite needing back their own stuff at an inconvenient time. Have a discussion. Ask :: hey man, can i finish out today and maybe part of tomorrow to get all my whaters roughly pre done ..unless its going on month 6 and your just now doing stuff ...then do not ask...just bring it back cleaned and ready to go. If you cant respect a persons property . you dont respect the person. If you dont respect the person, you have no business asking for anything.

A ex neighbour borrowed my lawnmower about 2 years ago and returned it 2 days later but not only didn't he clean it the grass box was full of grass. That neighbour who has since moved neither he or his kids never borrowed anything again and it wasn't for the want of asking at least once a month some of the kids came looking for something and the answer to their question "do you have a (say bicycle pump) I could borrow" my answer was always the same "sorry I don't have a bicycle pump you could borrow " I never told them I had a bicycle pump, just didn't have one they could borrow. My grandfather, my father, my father in law and myself always had the same view as yourself and my boys were taught the same way give it back as clean or cleaner, if it needed sharpened sharpen it etc.

Today I borrowed a wrench from my neighbor and this advice actually came into my thoughts whilst using it. There was no way I could improve it except for thoroughly cleaning it. So I did my best to clean until it looked new. Then I gave it back to him. *Hi5! You have made me a better person.* _Before I would also give it back right away, but I did not know about improving it before returning. No one ever told me i am supposed to do that._

I have a brother in law who asked me once if he could borrow my pressure sand blaster. I told him sure, but I was out of sand, so he'd have to get a bag. He asked how much that was. I told him abour $4. He said he'd get back to me. I never heard from him again. That says a lot about him. Not enough that I was lending him a high value piece of equipment, but I guess he was put off that I didn't supply the sand and he would have to spend $4.

When I borrowed my bosses personal pressure washer, he said it works great it's just a little dirty cause I've let it sit for awhile. He also said the soap dispensing feature didn't work. Lending tools is a hot topic that tradesmen can talk about over beers for hours... it is so much easier for most to borrow than to return... a tool that served me well for decades can be broken easily by a one time borrower... I love having to retrieve my tools when I need them... loaning out a chain saw is a big no can tell a lot about a person when they borrow stuff from you...

Good ethics, and I agree. Giving is better than getting. Forgive the other guy though. Doesn't mean you have to lend to him again. But Jesus said when asked how many times to forgive, "seven times?", "not until seven times but seventy times seven." More or less, always forgive. You know He does. I really enjoy your video's btw.
